Set Up Your Own Work at Home Virtual Assistant Business

The second type of home typing business which is easily set up by anyone who can use a computer, is a virtual assistant business. This allows you to work completely at home, usually without ever meeting clients in person, since all of the work is “collected” and delivered online.

The need for virtual assistants is growing rapidly with the development of technology and the ease with which people can set up an online business.

The type of service that you offer can include a huge range of activities from transcription, to creating and uploading web pages, translating, desktop publishing and anything else which you are skilled in and can complete over the internet.

The advantages of being a virtual assistant are many. You work at home but can have clients in any part of the world with internet access. In addition, you can create a much more interesting “job description” for yourself by offering a wide range of different services., which is unlikely if you are working as a personal assistant in the real world. You could be translating reports for a client in France, designing a website for a client in Scotland and transcribing mp3s for another in Canada.

Having a virtual assistant is extremely useful to small businesses and particularly to sole traders who need occasional help but do not have the space or funds to employ someone full time. Larger companies can also benefit as they can call upon a virtual assistant when they have a rush job or an unexpected surge of work.

This type of business can also be set up very easily in your spare time, allowing you to try it out before you commit yourself and giving you the opportunity to build up gradually before cutting back on the hours in your day job.

Top 7 Companies That Let You Work From Home

Courtesy of Chelsea Gladden

With an economy based on knowledge workers, estimates suggest that a full 50% of professionals in the United States have jobs that can be performed from home. In fact, according to the most recent Census findings, the number of people who work out of their houses increased from 9.5 million in 1999 to 13.4 million in 2010, indicating that many more companies are now offering remote jobs.

To determine which companies are likely hiring telecommuters in 2014, FlexJobs, the leading site for job searchers seeking ideal work-life balance, has named the top 100 companies that allow or encourage employees to work from home.

"From our 2013 data, we were able to determine which companies had the most telecommuting jobs posted throughout the past year," says Sara Sutton Fell, CEO of FlexJobs. "Based on this analysis, it's clear which employers embrace the option to work remotely, and it's a great list of companies for job seekers who want to keep an eye on flexible options in 2014."

Out of more than 25,000 pre-screened and vetted companies with flexible work schedules, FlexJobs determined the top 100 companies with the most work-from-home opportunities over the course of the past year. From that list, here are the top seven to watch in 2014.

Telecommute-Friendly Companies

1. Xerox: Known as "world-leader in document technology," Xerox employs over 140,000 people and was the frontrunner for the highest number of work-from-home opportunities throughout 2013. With several jobs already posted in 2014 — titles including functional analyst and client managing director — this document-solutions, research-and-development leader is the number one company to watch.

2. UnitedHealth Group: It's a little-known fact that a nurse can actually have a full-time job helping patients — over the phone. That is, of course, unless you are a nurse or one of the many people who have received quality care this way. Through its network of businesses, UnitedHealth Group is "committed to making the healthcare system better, improving the health of people and supporting community efforts to do the same." Coming in second for the highest number of flex positions in 2013, this pioneer of innovative programs is already hiring 208 flexible jobs in the new year.

3. Dell: Coming in third, Dell, the number-one provider of computer systems for several consumer groups, is off to a successful start in 2014. Common remote jobs for Dell include IT positions, but the company also offers jobs such as business development managers and financial consultants.

4. Aetna: One of the nation's leading diversified healthcare and benefits companies, Aetna experienced a year of rapid growth, as evidenced by increased hiring efforts. The company came in fourth place for the highest number of remote jobs; keep an eye out for several more emerging employment opportunities ranging from pharmacy director (yes, you can do this job full-time from home) to network manager.

5. American Express: The credit card behemoth boasts a staff of about 63,500 and brought in nearly $32 billion yearly earnings in 2013. Having hired the fifth most telecommuting jobs throughout 2013, the company — which has been around since 1850 — is clearly embracing the times; in fact, work-from-home positions are already being listed for 2014. A few of these titles include meeting managers, travel consultants, senior relationship managers and more.

6. First Data: Empowering the global economy by making online purchases secure, this Canadian firm continues to expand its remote offerings with positions that range from account executives to government business consultants.

7. Humana: Already hiring for registered nurses, research scientists, medical directors and more, Humana currently has 26,000 employees and revenues exceeding $33 billion.

Rounding out the full Top 100 list are companies from a variety of industries including healthcare, information technology, education, nonprofit and philanthropy, and sales and marketing, includingAppleADPKaplanPricewaterhouseCoopersNovartisLockheed Martin and the American Heart Association. As more companies start offering remote jobs, professionals from most career fields can aspire to become a part of the work-from-home community.

Rebate Processor Jobs, Scam or Not?

Alright, I'm back again and the topic of today is Rebate Processors Positions! Seriously, these things are listed all over the Internet and everybody seems to be hopping all over them. I know I just started this blog, but I've been doing my best to keep things here true and to keep you guys FAR away from these scammers that intend to do you harm. I know it seems like this is something to get hopeful over, but let me be the bearer of bad news for you. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER MISLEADING WAY FOR YOU TO GET RIPPED OFF. It's not a total ripoff, but the way it's being represented is totally off and the reason why this isn't something you should get involved in.
Here’s What You’re Promised As A Rebate Processor
The world on a silver platter. Yeah right! What you are really promised is the ability to process rebates for various companies and these companies supposedly pay $10 - $15 per rebate. Supposedly you will be trained and you'll get paid daily, blah, blah, blah. But, wait for it, here's the catch, in order to start this, you'll need to pay anywhere from $29 - $49 dollars! When was the last time you paid someone to start a new job? Not a business opportunity, A JOB! They have got to be joking!
Here’s How Rebate Processor Positions Really Work
  • Authors of e-books or systems give you a list of products to sell
  • The companies that own these products pay a commission for every one you sell.
  • You’re provided a list of free classified sites.
  • You’re also provided with ads to put on these sites.
This is when the work begins. You head over to these free classified sites and post ads designed to encourage people to buy the products on your list. The catch is that in your ad, you have a statement that says something to the effect of how you will pay people to buy said product, also known as a rebate. This is when the scam rears its ugly head. Since you only get a commission when the products are sold, you really can't afford to pay anyone any form of rebate that you are promising in your ad. See the scam now?
Time For a Little Clarity
There are real companies that will pay you a commission for selling products or referring people to them. I can't say whether or not it is worth quitting your day job for, but they do exist. One of these really popular places is Swagbucks. It's an awesome place where you can earn points by watching videos, playing games, searching the Internet, making purchases, referring friends and more. Those points can easily be converted into gift cards, clothing, electronics and even donations. It's an awesome site and I truly do love Swagbucks and all of its rewards.
Back to the scam. The actual information is valuable, it's just their presentation of the "job" that makes it so bad. If someone told you that you could earn a full time living using Swagbucks, but didn't tell you about the rewards system, the ways to earn points, etc, you would feel scammed. But, in actuality, it's the representation of it that's the scam. So, let's just say that you can't call these things jobs, only ways to earn a little extra to help ease some tensions.
Bottom line is Internet Marketers walk a very fine line between marketing and lying...and they do this DAILY. And in the case of rebate processing, data entry and typing e-books they just slide up and down that line. So, the next time you come across this type of thing and the cost is $39.95, just remember, it's probably being misrepresented and you can probably find everything they are selling for free if you just research a little bit.
So, Scam or What?
So, my thoughts are above and, depending on your open-mindedness, you might be thinking SCAM!!!! Unfortunately, I can't tell you what to think. I would stay far away from them, but you may choose to do something different. My purpose is to give you this information and keep you informed.
So, where is your head at? What are you thinking? I'm really interested in what you guys think, so you can always drop a comment and I'll be sure to respond. And remember, if you are really looking for a legitimate business that you can build online for a few hours a day, I invite you to read this and get back with me if you have any questions. Feeder Matrix ~ Legitimate Company or Scam???

As I've said before, I'm here to help you avoid scams as well as help you to find work at home opportunities. Well, here is one that I felt like deserved a pass along.

INSTANT PAYMENTS TO PAYPAL AND STP!!!

What is Feeder Matrix?

What does that mean? It means that there are four levels, on the first level there are 4 persons, on the second level there are 16 persons, on the third level there are 64 persons and on the last level there are 256 persons. (Each level is the previous level, multiplied by 4).

This is really an easy to fill matrix because it has only 4 levels. There is a huge spillover and spillunder in this matrix. What does that mean? The sooner you enter the more and the faster you will earn.

How can you earn with Feeder Matrix?

Feeder Matrix has a really small start-up fee. I mean a really, really small start-up fee. It’s really good for beginners because of the small start-up fee and because it’s only a 4x4 matrix which offers you guaranteed earnings. As they say "If you can't earn here, nowhere can you." And in my opinion, this is true. I’m not a newbie to Network Marketing, but I am a newbie to Network Marketing that actually works and this program actually works! The one thing that I learned is that those programs that require a $50+ joining fee just don't grow so fast. Reason being? People are trying to make money and when the start-up costs are high, they have a negative view on parting with that cost. There is always something that start-up cost can cover, such as cell phone bills or a tank of gas. Then to top it off, these programs ask for you to pay every month in order to remain an active member whether you earn or don’t earn. Well, the good thing about Feeder Matrix is that there is only a one-time payment from your pocket and it is only $1.75. Each and every time you move up to the next level, you are just reinvesting the profits you already made from that initial $.175. I seriously doubt someone will have a hard time finding 7 quarters and the best thing is that there are no monthly membership costs. None, zip, zilch, nada…you pay just $1.75 once from your pocket and build your business from that. And to top it off, payments are instantly sent directly to your PayPal or Solid Trust Pay account, so the company never touches a dime of YOUR money.

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR FULL EXPLANATION

How much can you earn with Feeder Matrix?

Give $1.75 - Get $7
Reinvest $5 - Get $80
Reinvest $10 - Get $640
Reinvest $20 - Get $5,120
Reinvest $40 - Get $160
Reinvest $80 - Get $1,280
Reinvest $160 - Get $10,240
Reinvest $320 - Get $81,920
POTENTIAL INCOME: $99,447

All it takes is $1.75 and 4 like-minded friends or family members. So, tell me again why you wouldn’t do this? Right, that’s what I said.

Package Forwarding and Re-Shipping Scams

This is a hot one guys!

What exactly is it? Well, I'll tell you what it isn't. It isn't a glorified position working at home for any of the major shipping companies like FedEx or UPS shipping packages for them. Trust me, they have enough company employed people to do a job such as this. You've seen them, they wear the uniforms and drive the big ugly brown trucks or the white ones with FED EX stamped on the side. But, these scammers running these types of scams want you to think that this is what you will be doing...in a roundabout sort of way.

Here is the breakdown for you:

These scammers usually hunt you down on Craigslist, Careerbuilder, Monster and other career sites so that they can gain access to your e mail addresses. They then e mail you a "job offer" that sounds pretty nice. They entice you with a work from home job where all you have to do is receive packages for their customers and re-route them to their customers. Sounds simple right? Well, they even go further to send you to a phony website to sign up and complete an application. They then will have you sign a contract or even fill out direct deposit forms in their attempts to seem like a legitimate company. BUT THEY ARE NOT! Remember that while you are thinking this job offer is for real, you are sending them your real ID card, your real home address, your real resume, etc.

So, once they have you as their "employee," they begin to send packages to your home for you to send to their "customers" using pre-paid shipping labels they will send you. These labels are usually showing shipment out of the country to places like Russia. This process will go on for at least a month as they claim to pay you monthly, one lump sum, but a per package shipped bonus. This usually adds up to roughly $2500 to $4000, which really sounds good to someone who has been out of work right? WRONG!

What usually happens is that you wait and wait. You contact them and they don't respond. Then one morning, while you are fast asleep, you hear loud knocking at your door and it's your local PD or worse, the F.B.I. (And trust me, when those letters get behind you, it is NOT a good thing!). Once this happens, you had better have a good lawyer or enough evidence to prove you were the victim of a scam. Otherwise, you'll be charged with being an accessory or receiving stolen property.

How could this be though, right? This was a legitimate job!!! No, actually it wasn't. These guys lured you in and they used stolen credit cards to purchase EVERYTHING that was shipped to your home that you subsequently shipped to them unknowingly!

What has happened is that these guys have identity theft to a new low. They steal credit card information from individuals and then they purchase goods from companies using those cards. Now, they have created two victims. Once you come into play, they have created a third victim, but you are their fall guy. They are overseas and you are in the same place that all the theft occurred in, so you shelter all of the blame. And by the time you are in custody, they are long gone with literally thousands of dollars worth of stolen goods.

So, how to handle this must be on your mind. Well, here are the steps you should always remember:

1. Don't accept packages from people you do not know. NEVER!!!
2. Cease and desist all communication with the scammer if it sounds like this.
3. If you have received packages already, DO NOT MAIL THEM. Return them to the sender!
4. Keep all of the correspondence between you and the scammer in the event you get that 5 am door knock.
5. Call the Postal Inspectors at 1.877.876.2455 or click here to file a complaint online.
6. File a complain with ic3.gov
7. If you have already fallen victim, be proactive and report everything using the above steps. Also, don't hesitate to leave a comment with the scammers information below so that you may help someone else to avoid it.

It's hard to turn away what sounds like a dream job when you are desperate to get back to work, but just be careful. These things happen and they can be very serious. So, just remember the steps above and stay far away from scams such as this!

A Little About Me

I'm a mom hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana and I've done it all, from waiting tables to working in Fortune 500 companies, but none of this made me truly happy. So, I decided to think about the things that would. I dabbled in crafts and found something I truly do love, making rhinestone shirts. And while this can be a very profitable business, it takes a lot of time, money and people to make it function like a well oiled machine. So what now? I make a decent part-time salary selling shirts online and it's something I really do enjoy, however, my product line just keeps expanding to meet the demands of the market...not something one person can do in their home office without dedicating their entire day to it (which at this point, I cannot do as I'm still employed full time). So again...what now?

Well, I'll tell you what. I'm starting my journey and you guys have a front row seat. I'm on a mission to find any and ALL work from home opportunities that are not only legit, but that actually make a real income that someone can be proud to say they left their 9 - 5 for. So today, my journey begins and I promise not to leave you guys out.

Over the next few...however long, I'll be updating you with all of the opportunities I run into, whether they are big, small, real, fake, scam or otherwise so that I can not only tell you what works and what I'm making money from, but what doesn't work and what you should stay far away from. The only thing I ask from you is to follow me, ask questions and join me if you are sick and tired of the rat race. I know I am fed up with waking up at 5 am, just to get to work by 7, sit in a cubicle and make some big corporation look good because of my knowledge and experience. I'd much rather sleep until 10 and build my brand, invest in me and make my family proud.

Do we have a deal? If so, I'll see you on the elevator of success as we ride to the top together!
